Personal Vision Essay
For my future, I want to live an equally substantial life between spontaneity and tranquility. I also want to have choices to make for my own without others telling me how to live my life. I’ve lived for 18 years without the privilege of making my own life choices and I believe that freedom is the ultimate goal in my life. If anything, autonomy will allow me to have peace in this constant boring and never ending drama that I live in. Peace and happiness is what I want and in order for me to have that, I need to strive for personal independence first. I want a future where I work in an enjoyable environment in a balanced profession with a familial or romantic lifestyle. I hope to live in my own space where I can have alone time but I also want to have time with loved ones in my life. To live independently and collectively is my current life goal. What I really want to accomplish is a lifestyle that fulfills all my wants and needs; owning a cozy house such as a lakeside chalet, living with my best friend or lover and doing fun activities with them daily, and having my own family along with a new legacy (e.g. a loving wife, few or lots of children, and new guidelines).
Regarding my professions, I envision a job where I am free to be myself but also respect my peers at the same time. I want a career that allows me to work on an individual and collective level where the setting is also indoors and outdoors on occasions. I know exactly what I want to be and that is many things; to be a baker, a cook, a poet, an author, and non-professionally a philosopher. They’re all different but they all tie to one conclusion: to serve (myself or others). I want to be a person that gives and does not take from people, to give back to society for helping me understand things. I may say I want a quiet workspace but I also want to live my life with some thrill. With that being said, any career that has a quiet atmosphere and yet a bustling collective mind of people is where I’m going to stay. To be more precise, I want to be a chef who cooks for others and myself, a poet to read poems to my children or my lover, and an author to write my own life story and fantastical stories based on myths and legends. My career will shape my very legacy and it is my legacy that I want to be realized through my hard work.
