Personal Qualities, Work Habits and Attitudes
I display self-esteem to some extent where I do not consider myself as worthless but neither do I believe that I am beyond what I am capable of as a human being. I am quite prideful to be a human being but I do have limitations that prevent me from becoming arrogant. Many would call me pessimistic or optimistic. The truth of the matter is that I’m neither. I am an idealist which in that context does make me highly optimistic to unrealistic proportions. I am a human being which means I can become discouraged from time to time, but, I do have a strong resilient nature which brings me back on my feet every time I fall down. I also have a somewhat “can-do” attitude but it depends on how I feel at the moment and who I am addressing myself to. However, I do exhibit a potential indication to “limit-break” that which is hindering me from accomplishing my ambitions. I certainly stand up for my own beliefs or philosophies but not in the defensive context, rather, it is more in the perspective that no one has the right to define who I am but myself alone.
To put myself in the aspect of responsibility is in its own definition “black and white” or contradicting. I can portray myself as a highly irresponsible slacker by whatever circumstance is possible and in any other circumstance, I can switch to a highly tenacious individual that confuses those that tend to see more of the “idle” mentality that I display. When I am pursuing a goal that I desire, I put the “brick on the pedal” and work until I obtain that goal which in its own aspect can be good and bad. Since I am an idealist, I have an endless reserve of enthusiasm or curiosity that can never allow me to become bored or give up my dreams. I wouldn’t necessarily call that optimism as I can see the bad side in everything, but, just as I can see the bad, I can also see the good in everything as well.
I do not necessarily have a sense of “justice” but I do have a strong moral compass that surpasses the justice system of good and bad, right and wrong. I have extreme honorary morals to which when displayed can sometimes intimidate people. When I make a vow or promise or commitment to something that I wish to have, I will obtain it no matter the cost. The process is much more important than the results, in my opinion, anyway. Many cannot trust me more so out of fear than the fact that I am actually a pacifist but I can resort to fighting if fighting is my only option. Very few people trust me as they can see the real me: a gentle and kindhearted person. I use ethical options to make prudent decisions after I deduct what the cause and effect of my options will be.
New Basics
My reading skills are beyond extraordinary. I say that based on what others have said of me, not by my own perspective. In elementary school, I displayed a high level of development in reading at the age of 8. In middle school, my reading and analytical skills were already that of a high school student; specifically a Junior or 11th grader. As of now, I can read in multiple dialects regarding only the English language or ancient dialects due to my advanced reading at a youthful age. For example, I can read formal English and Shakespearean English, to some extent, anyway. I can understand reading in the regular form and I can “read between the lines” which means I can see the bigger picture in abstract literature and writing.
As for my writing skills, unlike my reading skills, they did not develop as fast at a youthful age. My writing skills started to advance and take form at the age of 12 when I started writing decent essays. At the age of 16, my writing skills had advanced to a college freshman-like level and at the age of 18, my writing resembles that of an adult, or so that I’ve been told. I can write advanced poetry and personal projects such as stories and philosophies that I believe in. Many people my age cannot comprehend what I write since it is mainly philosophical and abstract. However, those who read or hear my poetry and writing in stories tend to be more drawn to my beautiful writing as they can at the very least form guesses on what the hidden meaning is behind it. I can write eloquently and my grammar is almost always correct but that doesn’t mean I cannot make mistakes in writing.
In addition to my reading and writing skills comes my speaking skills. My speaking skills were far behind in development compared to the other two skills. I could not speak properly until I was 11. At the age of 8 was when I started to form somewhat proper words without speaking gibberish. However, at the age of 15, my speaking skills were already advancing at an alarming rate. My speaking skills are now above my reading skills but not yet above my writing skills. As of now, I can speak fluent English and somewhat translate Shakespearean English. I can also speak in the speech form where I become a rather idealistic figure of authority when speaking, however, I barely or almost never at all make speeches.
Thinking and Reasoning Skills
For learning new skills, I intentionally make the first mistake in order to learn it correctly. It gives a better understanding of how to learn new skills and/or solving problems. I am also aware that there are many different ways of learning but the one that I am fond of the most and I think is the best teacher by far is by making a mistake and learning from it. I use many strategies when it comes to learning such as using my creative skills or my deductive/intuitive skills to solve problems. I apply knowledge that I’ve learned to my daily life in the form of an experiment first in order to get the experience of how it works if used in reality rather than theoretically.
Along with my way of thinking, I use a more logical approach to life rather than emotional lest my feelings obscure me from my true goal. I appear to be cold and callous sometimes but that is simply because I have to be, not because I want to be. In order to work efficiently without being swayed by human emotions, I have to null myself to get my tasks done. While it is not my ideal choice, I find it a necessary need in order to surpass college and many other daunting tasks that lie ahead in my future. I can also see through lies easily and anticipate what others are thinking before they make a move therefore allowing me to be one step ahead of them. Though, this is not always the case as I can still miscalculate and make mistakes. It’s all a matter of trial and error.
I am also a very analytical person in the matter of symbols and meanings behind what makes something tick. I am more of a visual learner rather than auditory as I find it easy to deduct and deconstruct the facade that obscures the truthful meaning behind the object or person by brainstorming and coming up with theories. It also helps that I use the concept of philosophy and common sense in the equation when trying to solve a visual problem.
Interpersonal Abilities
I am good at teamwork when I need to be but I prefer to work independently as that allows me to be alone with my thoughts. If need be and no one else wants to take the lead, I will take position as a leader in order to progress forward. Lounging about will not get work done if no one wants to lead the group. I can also take many other positions within the group such as the motivator, the advocate, or the creative one. I mostly take the role as an advocate as I am very good at coming up with ideas and theories that could be implemented to express or provoke ethos, pathos, logos, or kairos senses.
As for teaching others new skills, in reference to my role as an advocate, I give advice or pep talks for those who are lost within their own thoughts or emotions. In doing so, I help them realize what they need to do or something they didn’t know about themselves before. I mainly teach people how to deal or come to peace with their inner conflict or existential crisis or confusion. While many people do not know this about me, I am often called by those who were helped by me as a wise person, this I doubt almost all the time. I understand how humans work and how desire leads to confusion or destruction, mentally, emotionally, or literally. I help others with their problems because I understand their pain too well, which in any case, shows that I am a very empathetic and understanding person. All of this knowledge comes not from studying but through terrible experiences that I've gone through myself which in my opinion is far more understanding than someone who's studied human psychology and actually never went through such experiences.
Last of all, I work very well with people of different backgrounds and knowledge and experiences. I am a very accepting person for those who are troubled, kind, or just plain cruel. I understand very well that how people turn out is not their fault but the world’s fault so I do not make it my place to judge others as it not my role or right to judge them. Only they can judge themselves. I actually love diverse communities as it is very calming and yet somewhat strange to experience it. I do have sensitivity to others' needs and I understand them very well. However, I do not solely care for others opinions as those are just their way of seeing the world unless they are extremely close to me which counts only a few people in my life. I do respond to those which have concerns or problems even if they are of a different ethnicity and religion. I try to help them the best I can. I also try to get accustomed to their traditions or ways of life as I assume it would disrespect their culture or way of living and/or beliefs.
Technology
Overall, I do not have a wide range of knowledge about technology. What I do know is that I prefer to choose the most efficient device that helps me with my career or education which is a computer or laptop. I mainly set it up for my personal benefits adhering to my education and career.
When it comes to technological issues such as troubleshooting or other malfunctions caused by malware or a virus, I usually try to solve it by my own means. If that does not work within the first hour that I tried fixing it, I will call for help from other people who have more experience with fixing the issue. If it’s something simple such as preventing a virus or other simple issues, I can easily arrange for my laptop to prevent such issues.
My awareness of technology is not vast but I do have the simple knowledge of which to use for the appropriate occasions. When need be, I use my phone if my laptop is currently unavailable to use for educational purposes in substitute for it, though, a smart phone can only extend so far unlike a laptop’s vast variety of options and ways of use.
